Authorities said the man’s body was found by boaters on Oct. 7, 2000, in a cove about three miles north of Sandy Point Marina (now called Sandpoint Marina & RV Park).

He was believed to be between 20 and 40 years old and was described as a white man, standing 5′10″ with a mustache and brown hair.

Deputies said when his body was found, he was wearing blue jeans, Reebok tennis shoes, and a t-shirt with the “Hot Boat Magazine” logo on the back. He was also wearing a Casio calculator watch, had a utility knife, and a small flashlight inscribed with “JKP.”

Investigators believed he had been dead for about one month before his body was discovered. Detectives haven’t said how he died.
