TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Another day of triple-digit heat, breezy afternoon/evening winds, and increased moisture. Throughout the afternoon, storms and showers have been developing mostly south and east of Tucson. Tucson is on the northern extent of precipitation chances today with Santa Cruz and Cochise Counties having the higher impacts. Gusts 40-45 mph with isolated gusts 50-60 mph. A good amount of lightning is coming along with these storms. Most areas aren’t seeing significant rainfall but localized brief, heavy rainfall is around.

Moisture continues to build into the first day of the monsoon, bringing another round of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. We dry out Tuesday, then moisture increases again Wednesday and Thursday. Heat lingers.
