More than half a dozen ducklings were down but not out when they got stuck in the drain and couldn’t find their mother near Layton Lakes Boulevard, east of Lindsay Road, and Queen Creek Road.
AHS crews were called out to help the feathery friends.
The team didn’t wing it; they removed the storm drain grate and used an extension pole with a cat net taped to the end.
After about two hours, the ducklings were brought to safety and put in a cage while crews looked for their mama.

AHS searched for about 15 minutes before finding the mama duck on the other side of the lake.
The family was reunited at the water in a pond-erful ending.
