Brenda Rivera Estrada, 30, crashed her SUV near Interstate 17 and Cactus Road on April 12 while under the influence of marijuana and methamphetamine, prosecutors said. Her 9-year-old daughter was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.

Troopers with the Department of Public Safety suspected Estrada was under the influence, and about a month later, toxicology results confirmed she had marijuana and meth in her system, prosecutors said.

Three other children were in the vehicle and suffered minor injuries, officials said.
