Pima County Treasurer Brian Johnson resigning

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Pima County officials confirmed the resignation of Treasurer Brian Johnson on Friday, June 12.

In a statement to 13 News, the county said it “has received a letter of resignation and is discussing when it will meet to take the steps necessary to ensure the Treasurer’s Office continues to function legally and in accordance with all Federal, State and County requirements, rules and regulations.”

It is unclear who could or would take over for Johnson, who was elected to the position in 2024.

The county’s Chief Deputy Treasurer is Jake Martin, whom 13 News spoke to when he was appointed to the position as a 21-year-old.
