LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ (AZFamily) — A Lake Havasu City woman is facing charges for allegedly discarding numerous political signs from different candidates over the weekend.

On Sunday, a witness reported seeing a woman removing political signs in the area of SR 95 and Acoma Boulevard around 10 p.m. The witness told police that the woman was removing several candidates’ signs and throwing them on the ground.
Though she fled the area before police arrived, the witness captured a photo of the woman and her vehicle and gave it to authorities.
The next day, officers identified the suspect as 65-year-old Lisa Priester, a Lake Havasu City resident. Authorities determined that Priester allegedly removed and damaged signs belonging to seven political candidates.
Priester was arrested and charged with seven counts of removing a political sign, all misdemeanors. Investigators say she was released after her initial court appearance.

Lake Havasu Police are reminding the community that removing, defacing and damaging political signs is a criminal offense.
Residents who have concerns about the placement of political signs or potential safety hazards are asked to contact Lake Havasu City Code Enforcement at 928-453-4148.
