The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced Friday that a grand jury indicted Michael Sanchez, 18, on multiple felonies, including three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault.
His alleged getaway driver, Antonio Tequida, 19, was indicted on one count of hindering prosecution.
According to police, on May 14, Sanchez opened fire on his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Rylee Montgomery, 16, another pregnant girl and a 22-year-old woman outside a home in the Westpark neighborhood near Broadway Road and Miller Road around 8:15 p.m.
Montgomery and her unborn baby died at the scene. The two other victims were taken to the hospital. The pregnant girl, identified by family as Abby, 17, was forced to deliver her baby early. She named him Timmothy Rylee in honor of Montgomery. He died days later.
Investigators said Sanchez and Tequida drove off in Tequida’s Chrysler 300 after the shooting. Sanchez was found at a home near Dysart Road and MC-85 early in the morning on May 15.

Court documents said surveillance video and Sanchez’s ankle monitor, which he had because of an arrest in March on charges of DUI and running from police, placed him at the shooting scene.
Tequida was arrested May 17 in Avondale.
About a month before the shooting, Avondale police received information that, police paperwork said, Sanchez had pointed a gun at Montgomery in February. After detectives investigated, police said there was not enough evidence to arrest Sanchez.
