Las Vegas police search for suspect after man shot, killed at store

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A man is dead after being shot in a Las Vegas shopping center Wednesday evening, police say.

Lt. Robert Price said the shooting happened just after 4:30 p.m. at a business in the 2100 block of North Rainbow Boulevard, near Lake Mead Boulevard. Police said the suspect, described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, entered the front door of the business and asked to see a certain employee.

Price described the victim as a Black man in his 30s.

Once the suspect came in contact with the victim, a fight ensued. Price said the suspect pulled out a firearm, shot the victim, and fled. Police said they do not know which direction he went, and the suspect is still outstanding.

When officers arrived, they found a man inside the store suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers provided aid until medical arrived, but he died at the scene.

Police said the shooting is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
