(Gray News) — Walter Parazaider, a founding member of the band Chicago, died Wednesday morning. He was 81.

According to Deadline, Parazaider died of complications from Alzheimer’s disease while in hospice care.
TMZ reported that Parazaider was diagnosed with the disease six years ago.
Parazaider’s daughter announced his death on Facebook.
“This was the worst six years. The hardest season of my life. And I’m so grateful that my dad is not suffering anymore. I love you poppy, my Pal,” she wrote in part.

Parazaider founded Chicago in 1967. The band recorded nearly 40 albums and sold more than 100 million records, Deadline reported.
