TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Crews are responding to a new wildfire burning in southern Arizona, and smoke was visible from SR 83.

The Coronado National Forest said the Josephine Fire was around 5 acres with no containment as of 2 p.m. Thursday, June 18.
The CNF said it started near the top of Mount Wrightson in the Santa Rita Mountains around 12:30 p.m. and the cause is under investigation.
Gardner Trail #143 was closed, but there were no evacuations and no structures were in danger.

“Ground support and air resources are en route to respond with direct extinguishment tactics for this full suppression fire,” the CNF said in a Facebook post.
