LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas police are investigating a deadly shooting involving city maintenance workers in downtown Friday morning.

According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to reports of the shooting just after 6 a.m. in the 400 block of North 7th Street, near Mesquite Avenue.

According to LVMPD, the 911 caller was the suspect, later identified as Brysen Kim, 31, to report that he had shot his co-worker. Arriving officers located one individual suffering from a gunshot wound, who later died at the scene.

According to LVMPD Homicide Lieutenant Robert Price, detectives later discovered the victim and suspect were maintenance workers for the city of Las Vegas. Price added that the two were believed to be in an ongoing dispute. Police said that Kim got into a fight with the victim when he had pulled out a firearm and shot them.
FOX5 reached out to the city for a comment regarding the incident, where they expressed that the safety of their employees is their top priority and HR is providing support resources for staff.
Roads were closed along 7th between Stewart and Bonanza while the investigation was ongoing. Roads reopened as noon on Friday.
