Suspect arrested in Glendale hit-and-run crash that left bicyclist dead

GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A man has been arrested for a deadly hit-and-run crash that happened in Glendale Monday morning.

Oscar Octavio Zavala-Salazar, 47, was arrested Tuesday for felony hit-and-run, officials said.

The crash happened just before 4 a.m. on Grand Avenue near Myrtle Avenue, north of Glendale Avenue.

The city’s Real-Time Crime Center found that the bicyclist, later identified as Mayah Telles, 25, was hit by a vehicle. She was then hit by two other vehicles, police said. None of the drivers stopped, officials said.

Telles was taken to a hospital, where she later died.

A damaged bicycle was seen on the road as Arizona’s Family arrived.

Police did not say what led up to officers taking Zavala-Salazar into custody or which driver he is accused of being.

It was not immediately known whether any other drivers were facing charges.
