PHOENIX (AZFamily) — One year after conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated during a rally at Utah Valley University, Turning Point USA is showing financial growth while facing questions about its political influence without the man who built the organization.

The organization unveiled a statue of Kirk on the anniversary of his death Thursday. Supporters gathered at Turning Point USA headquarters in Phoenix to mark the day.
“He honestly had the biggest impact that any single man could have had on my generation except Jesus,” one supporter said.
Another supporter pointed to Kirk’s willingness to appear in public despite the risk.
“To see him stand up and do what he did so courageously, I want to support him in everything I can do and TPUSA of course,” the supporter said.
One supporter said Kirk’s message would continue despite his death.
“They can take a life, but they can’t take his voice and so it’s up to everyone else to carry that on and carry the legacy,” the supporter said.
Organization reports growth under Erika Kirk
Turning Point USA leaders say involvement is growing, with chapters and programs expanding under Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk. The organization’s political arm has raised about $9 million this year, more than it raised during the entire 2024 election cycle.
“They’re still raising money,” said Jaime Molera, a political consultant.
Molera said money is one measure of the organization’s strength, but political results are another.

“While they’ve been very effective in primary campaigns, translating that into the general election is a little more difficult,” Molera said.
Backed candidates trailing in polls
Turning Point USA has backed Andy Biggs for governor, Warren Petersen for attorney general, Alex Kolodin for secretary of state and Kimberly Yee for superintendent of public instruction. Recent polling shows all four candidates trailing their Democratic opponents, with Yee’s race being the closest.
“If they’re able to evolve, they’re able to grow their base, if they’re able to continue to be a voice for youth, that certainly could have a long-term impact, but right now it remains to be seen,” Molera said.
Social media audience shows signs of decline
Turning Point USA and Kirk built much of their audience through social media, including videos of debates that drew large viewership. Some newer videos are drawing fewer views.
Supporters who gathered at the organization’s headquarters said Turning Point USA is still standing.
