TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – An 80-year-old motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a protective street barrier on Tucson’s east side on Friday night.

The Tucson Police Department responded to reports of a motorcycle collision in the 2000 block of East Winsett Street just after 9:00 p.m. on September 4.
Responding officers and crews with the Tucson Fire Department arrived to find the motorcyclist unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Traffic detectives identified the victim as 80-year-old Terrance Yokofich.
Following an initial investigation, detectives determined Yokofich was traveling westbound on Winsett Street on a 2018 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Investigators say Yokofich was traveling at the posted speed limit of 25 miles per hour when his motorcycle struck a raised barrier traffic chicane.
The impact of the collision caused Yokofich to lose control and crash.
According to police, both the motorcycle’s speed and the impact with the raised traffic median are considered the primary contributing factors in the fatal collision.

Detectives confirmed that Yokofich was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. His family has been notified, and the investigation remains ongoing.
