BLACK CANYON CITY, AZ (AZFamily) — A car fire that sparked Tuesday afternoon has ignited brush just off Interstate 17 north of the Valley.

The fire was reported around 3:30 p.m. on I-17 northbound at mile marker 251, which is about 5 miles north of Black Canyon City.
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) said the engine compartment of a Kia Sorrento caught fire and quickly spread to the brush.
Fire crews could be seen responding to the fire growing in a brush area off the freeway.

No injuries were reported, but crews are dealing with high winds in the area, DPS said.
Northbound I-17 traffic is currently restricted. Drivers should expect delays.
