The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) said on July 1 that it received calls about a driver speeding erratically through traffic on U.S. 60, almost hitting other vehicles on the freeway.

DPS troopers caught up to the vehicle near McClintock Drive. After being stopped, the driver allegedly admitted to drinking about seven small “shooter” bottles of liquor. DPS added that the driver showed “obvious signs of impairment.”

A breathalyzer revealed the driver had a 0.28 BAC, according to DPS.

When searching the vehicle, troopers found about 25 “shooter” bottles of peppermint schnapps, including six that were empty.
