On Saturday, a voter notified the Pinal County Recorder’s office that their ballot was incorrect. Officials say that the vendor for the Secretary of State’s voter registration database had pulled incorrect information, resulting in printing errors on 1,468 ballots.
A spokesperson confirmed the error affected committeeman races in precincts 28 and 136 in Queen Creek and San Tan Valley.
The recorder’s office reviewed all records and are in the process of notifying Republican voters. As of noontime, the recorder’s office has sent 765 emails, 108 text messages and left 109 voicemails to affected voters.
Notices have been posted on the Pinal County Recorder’s website, and correct replacement ballots are being mailed with an explanation of the error. Officials say the original ballots were “canceled in the election system and cannot be tabulated.”
