TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Crews responded to a serious injury crash near Sixth Avenue and Ajo Way in Tucson on Tuesday, Aug. 18.

The Tucson Police Department said Ajo Way was closed at Sixth as of 3:50 p.m. and would stay that way for an extended period of time. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
A 13 News photographer said a TPD Crime Scene unit was arriving at the scene, along with a van from the corner’s office.
The photographer said he saw at least three vehicles that may have been involved in the accident — a motorcycle, a red SUV and a dark blue car.

It was the fifth serious crash in southern Arizona in less than a week.
- On Aug. 12, one person died in a head-on crash on SR 79 near Catalina. DPS said a driver was killed after crossing the median and hitting another vehicle.
- ON Aug. 16, two people were killed in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 near Benson. DPS said Hunter Susan Milo Barrows and Luciano L. Johnson died when their vehicle crossed the median, sideswiped an oncoming vehicle, and got stuck under the trailer of a semitruck.
- On Aug. 17, one person died and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash at Grant and Rosemont in Tucson. The TPD said 57-year-old Michael Thomas Still was a passenger in one of the vehicles and died at a hospital.
- On Aug. 18, a motorcyclist suffered severe injuries after crashing into the back of an SUV on SR 77 near Saddlebrook.
