TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — Investigators are searching for a driver who seriously injured a 16-year-old girl in a hit-and-run crash in Tempe last week, police announced.

The crash happened just after 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, near Baseline Road and Calle Los Cerros Drive. According to the Tempe Police Department, the teenager was walking in a crosswalk when a car hit her and drove away.
Police believe the vehicle involved is a dark gray, 2014 to 2016 four-door Mazda 3 sedan. Investigators said the car has significant damage to the front driver’s side, including the headlamp assembly and bumper area. The vehicle is also likely missing a substantial portion, if not all, of its front bumper cover.
