ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV/Gray News) – The parents of a 6-month-old child have been arrested after the child was found in a hot car early Saturday afternoon.

St. Louis Metropolitan Police state that at around noon, officers were at the 1400 block of N. Kingshighway Boulevard for an event when they were flagged down and told there was a 6-month-old boy unresponsive inside an unattended car.
Police say the child was taken out of the car, which was not running, had windows up and did not have working air conditioning.
The child was covered in sweat after being in temperatures over 90 degrees. Police said on Sunday the child had to be revived by the St. Louis Fire Department.
He was taken to an area hospital and is now responsive and is in stable condition, according to police.
The parents of the child were arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and abuse or neglect of a child.

K’Yana Curry, 32, and Varden Lovett, 51, from Bellefontaine Neighbors, are being charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child resulting in physical injury.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
Court documents state that Curry and Lovett were participating in the Urban League Expo that was held on Saturday. The child fell asleep in Curry’s arms, and Lovett took the child outside and placed him in a blue car.
Documents said the windows of the car were cracked but the AC was broken.
Lovett left the child alone in the car and returned inside to rejoin Curry at the event, according to documents.
A person noticed the child inside the car and called 911 after waiting a few minutes to see if someone returned to the car. Security officers at the event were also flagged down by the person.
The child was taken out of the car and was given medical aid.
Court documents show that Lovett has a criminal history spanning from 1993 to 2025, including assault on an officer, burglary, robbery and shoplifting.

Both Curry and Lovett are being held with no bond.
