KINGMAN, AZ (AZFamily) — A decade after a man was shot and killed in northwestern Arizona, authorities have made an arrest in the case.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office announced that John Dee Page Jr., 46, was arrested in connection with the 2016 homicide of Matthew Johnson, 22.
Johnson was shot on Dec. 14, 2016, in Kingman. Emergency crews attempted to save his life and rushed him to a local hospital, but he was later pronounced dead.
Detectives processed evidence and interviewed possible witnesses but were unable to develop a strong case to make an arrest at the time.
Over the course of a decade, evidence from the crime scene was resubmitted for evaluation, and several people were reinterviewed by detectives and Mohave County’s special investigations unit. Throughout the extensive 10-year investigation, authorities identified Page as the homicide suspect.

Page was tracked down and taken into custody on Tuesday. He was booked into the Mohave County Detention Facility in Kingman on a charge of first-degree murder.
Deputies did not specify where Page was found or what evidence led to his arrest. The investigation remains ongoing.
