(Gray News) – Stewart McLean, an actor who appeared on “Virgin River,” was found dead. He was 45.

McLean was reported missing on May 18, three days after he was last seen at his home in Lions Bay, B.C., about 20 miles outside of Vancouver, Canadian authorities said.
On May 20, homicide investigators took over the case. In a statement to CBC, police said McLean’s remains were found.
McLean’s death was also confirmed by Lucas Talent Inc. in a statement shared Friday by talent agent Jodi Caplan on Facebook.

“It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved client, Stew McLean,” the statement said. Caplan said she worked with McLean for more than a decade and described him as dedicated, professional and “endlessly funny,” adding that casting directors had reached out with condolences.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to build a timeline of McLean’s activities leading up to May 15.
McLean was best known for his roles in the shows “Virgin River,” “Arrow” and “Murder in a Small Town.”
