TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Tucson Police Department says a welfare check has turned into a homicide investigation.

The TPD says officers responded to the area of Mission and Ajo Sunday morning, May 24.
That’s where they found 39-year-old Tyler Slife dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
Police say people near the scene reported shots being fired a couple hours earlier but left the area. Police say those individuals returned later in the morning and discovered the victim.

Anyone who may have been a witness or who has information about this incident is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME to remain anonymous.
