PHOENIX (AZFamily) — An argument ended with gunfire at a west Phoenix home, killing one person and injuring another early Tuesday morning.

The shooting was reported at a home near 79th Drive and Indian School Road shortly before 6 a.m.
According to Phoenix Police Sgt. Sheree Lee, a fight broke out during a small gathering at a home. Investigators say two women began arguing, and two men tried to calm things down and de-escalate the situation. Sometime during the argument, an unknown man pulled out a gun and shot the two men.
Police say Jesus Ivan Buitimea Valencia, 42, died at the scene, and the other man was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Sgt. Lee said the second victim is in critical condition, but is expected to survive.
The unknown suspect fled the scene before police arrived and has not yet been found. A description of the suspect has not yet been determined.

Arizona’s Family news chopper captured video of a large police scene, with numerous Phoenix police SUVs parked in front of a home.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation and are interviewing witnesses to figure out who the shooter was.
