CHINO VALLEY, AZ (AZFamily) — An armed woman was apprehended after barricading herself inside a Chino Valley home on Thursday.

Chino Valley Police said its officers responded to a home off Porcupine Pass for reports of a family dispute and a woman who pointed a gun at family members.
When police arrived, they said two family members had left the residence with a third person and the suspect still inside. When officers told the third person to leave the home, the woman came to the entryway armed with a pistol, police said.
Officers told the woman to drop her gun. Police said she refused, pointed the gun at officers and shut the door.
Police then set up a perimeter to negotiate with the armed woman and help get the third person out of the home. The police department said the woman still refused to leave.
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team was called to help. Chino Valley PD said deputies deployed a drone into the home to find the woman.

After she still refused to come out, police said less-lethal munitions and a K-9 were used, and the woman was taken into custody.
Police did not identify the woman. She was taken to a hospital in the Valley for evaluation and treatment. This is still an active investigation.
