CINCINNATI (WXIX/Gray News) – Cincinnati police say a Spectrum worker was critically injured in a street robbery while he was out on a job early Thursday morning.

According to authorities, the employee was on a call at about 5 a.m. in a Cincinnati neighborhood when a dark blue SUV pulled up next to him.
A man with a red bandana covering his face got out, demanded everything from the Spectrum worker and then robbed him at gunpoint, according to police.
The Spectrum worker told the gunman he could take everything, but the suspect still shot him, a Cincinnati sergeant said.
The employee was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

“We can confirm one of our Spectrum employees was shot this morning. Our thoughts are with our colleague and their family at this time,” a Spectrum spokesman said in a statement.
The suspect or suspects took off from the scene in the SUV and remain at large.
Spectrum is offering a reward of up to $25,000 to the person(s) who provide credible information about any of the individual(s) involved in the shooting.
“We are saddened and concerned by the violent attack on one of our team members who was working to keep customers connected. We are working with the Cincinnati Police Department as they investigate,” the company statement continued.
