WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) — The man accused of shooting and killing his estranged wife at an east Wichita apartment complex in April has pleaded guilty in the case.

Joshua Orlando appeared in Sedgwick County Court on Wednesday and entered his guilty plea to first-degree felony murder and aggravated kidnapping in the death of 25-year-old Ivy Unruh.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Orlando went to Unruh’s apartment at the Remington Apartments, 7272 E. 37th St., to drop off gaming equipment and shot her outside her home. He then called 911 to report the crime.

Unruh was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died a couple of days later.

Orlando is scheduled to return to court Aug. 28 for sentencing. He faces 39 years to life in prison depending on his criminal history.
