TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The woman accused of stabbing a man on a Sun Tran bus last year has been sentenced.

On Monday, April 20, Juanita Genevieve Sanchez was sentenced to 3 ½ years in prison with 279 days served for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Authorities said she attacked a man while on a bus at the Laos Transit Center in Tucson on July 25, 2025.

The Tucson Police Department said the 31-year-old Sanchez was sitting behind a 61-year-old man when she pulled out a knife and attacked him without provocation.
The victim suffered wounds to his neck and hand and was treated at a local hospital.
