TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A man arrested following a deadly crash in Tucson has been sentenced.

The Tucson Police Department said 24-year-old Inez Marie Romero was ejected from the vehicle and died in the crash near Oracle and Roger in Tucson early Sunday, Aug. 10.
According to the interim complaint, 26-year-old Timothy Ray Munoz was the driver of the vehicle.
The document states he was driving at a high rate of speed in a residential neighborhood, lost control, hit a utility box, crashed into a block wall and landed on top of several vehicles.
The document shows Inez Marie Romero was Munoz’s wife.
The document states Munoz showed signs of impairment and admitted to drinking alcohol.
During his initial court appearance, he was ordered to be held on a $750,000 bond.
Munoz appeared in court again on March 31 where he faced charges of manslaughter, criminal damage and aggravated driving under the influence.

He was sentenced to seven years in prison with 231 days served for manslaughter and 2 ½ years in prison with 231 days served for criminal damage. The sentences will be served concurrently.
Additionally, Munoz was sentenced to probation for five years on a DUI charge that will start when he is released from prison.

Dominique Romero, who said she was Inez’s sister, started a GoFundMe to pay for the funeral. In the post, Dominique said her sister had a 3-year-old daughter.
“She was so loving, goofy, beautiful, the life of the party in every situation, the purist soul you could ever meet, always putting her daughter first,” Dominique wrote.
The TPD also said the vehicle, a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, may have been involved in a street takeover event earlier in the day.
The TPD said the man lost control of the vehicle, hit a curb, drove across the roadway, and hit a wall.
