The investigation into Michael Shawn Wedge, 40, of Needles, California, began in July after authorities looked into reports of counterfeit money circulating in Mohave County. That investigation led officials to name Wedge a suspect.
Wedge was taken into custody and had seven counterfeit $100 bills on him, officials said.
With help from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, officials searched Wedge’s residence in Needles and found evidence of counterfeit money production, Mohave County officials said. A stolen motorcycle was also found.
“The investigation resulted in the closure of six MCSO cases and identified Wedge as a suspect in at least two additional BHCPD cases,” Mohave County spokesperson Anita Mortensen said.
