PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Phoenix police are investigating after a woman was found dead from a stabbing in the Laveen area Saturday morning.

First responders were called to a bus stop near the intersection of 35th Avenue and Roeser Road around 7:15 a.m., according to police.
When they got to the scene, police found a woman behind the bus stop with severe injuries and a large amount of blood.
Police said initial information found that the woman had been stabbed in her abdomen, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances of the woman’s death. She has not been publicly identified.
