PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (Gray News) — Dollywood will stay open in the wake of Dolly Parton’s death.

In a Facebook post, Dollywood said the park will be open Wednesday “as Dolly wanted, always reminding everyone with her signature sparkle – ‘the show must go on.’”
The park said that Parton’s wish was that Dollywood always remain “a place of joy, hope and togetherness—a space where families and friends could honor her memory, not with silence, but with laughter, music and shared dreams.”
Parton died Tuesday after a brief battle with cancer, her family said. She was 80.
“Everyone at Dollywood shares the sorrow of countless people around the world touched by Dolly’s warmth, wisdom and generous spirit,” the park said.
Parton’s career spanned decades, with hits like “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You.”
Born in Tennessee, she rose from humble beginnings to become a country music icon. She later became a successful actor and businesswoman.
Parton was also a philanthropist, founding her Imagination Library to promote children’s literacy, among other generous endeavors.
