WALTON, Ky. (WXIX/Gray News) – A mother was arrested and charged after her husband was caught on camera abusing their 3-month-old daughter, according to authorities.
Carleena Webb, 33, is charged with first-degree criminal abuse in connection with a case involving her husband, 36-year-old Shaun Webb, and their infant daughter.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Department said that Carleena Webb saw Shaun Webb abuse their daughter on their in-home cameras, returned home from work to confront him, but instead of removing the baby from the situation, went back to work, leaving the child in Shaun Webb’s care.
Detectives also allege that Carleena Webb did not seek medical treatment for the daughter after the alleged abuse, nor did she report the abuse to law enforcement.
The deputies learned about the abuse after out-of-state family reported and provided video of the abuse.
An in-home video shows Shaun Webb slapping the 3-month-old girl with an open hand in the face as she was lying on the living room floor crying.

The video also shows Shaun Webb holding the 3-month-old by the back of her head while covering her face for about 19 seconds, detectives said.
Shaun Webb is also seen placing his hand over the 3-month-old’s face multiple times as she lay on the living room floor, with each instance lasting between 10 and 13 seconds, detectives said.
Shaun Webb was arrested Friday and charged with 10 counts of first-degree criminal child abuse.
While being interviewed, Shaun Webb said his daughter’s crying “triggers me, like nails on a chalkboard,” and said children are “like a dog, you have to train them and set boundaries.”

Shaun and Carleena Webb were both taken to Boone County Jail.
