TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) -A morning cluster of rain and showers was marching north, just west of Tucson to kick off today’s First Alert Weather Day. This will give us a break in the action until we build daytime heating for the afternoon/evening. With another batch, a FAWD is also in place for Friday.

A thinning out for the afternoon thundershower drill over the Holiday weekend, returning early next week. Latest model runs aren’t real heavy on rainfall collected, although local flooding still very possible over the period. Some tropical moisture will drift north from the flow of Hurricane Marie. The Hurricane Center is projecting the storm to march northwest to northwest west over the weekend. A major dump of tropical moisture doesn’t appear to get thrown into the US Southwest, but later runs might change that.

Tonight – A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Friday – A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 8am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 96. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Friday Night – A 20 percent chance of showers after 11pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. West southwest wind around 5 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.
