TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The polls are closed for today’s primary election.

Arizona has an open primary, meaning all registered voters — including independents — can choose which party’s ballot they want to cast.

Today’s ballot covers federal, state, and local races. At the top of the ticket, voters will weigh in on candidates for U.S. House in Districts 6 and 7, along with statewide races for governor, secretary of state, attorney general, and state treasurer.
Local races include contests for state senate and house, Pima County Board of Supervisors, clerk of the Superior Court, and municipal offices in Marana, Oro Valley, Sahuarita, and South Tucson. Voters are not required to vote in every race — any votes cast will still count.
Many of the candidates talked about their plans if they win their respective races with Tucson Now hosts Devyn Shea and Makayla Goos.
