PRESCOTT, AZ (AZFamily) — A Prescott man faces charges after a thorough investigation into online child exploitation crossing state lines.

Prescott Police said David Velasquez, 70, was arrested in a case that was first referred to them by police in Portland, Tennessee.
Portland police said detectives found multiple social media accounts and electronic data connected to Velasquez and to incidents of online luring of minors.
During their investigation, Prescott detectives identified several minor victims across multiple states.
Velasquez was found to have contacted one of the out-of-state victims when she was just 11 years old, police said. Law enforcement worked with local authorities to identify the girl and ensure she received appropriate support services.

On Wednesday, a search warrant was served at Velasquez’s home in Prescott, where he was detained. A search of his cellphone found evidence consistent with luring of minors and possession of child sexual exploitation material, police said.
Authorities booked Velasquez into the Yavapai County Jail on charges including sexual exploitation of a minor and aggravated luring of a minor for sexual exploitation.
