TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A serious crash in the 3300 block of East Benson Highway has left one man dead.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said that just after 2:10 p.m. on Sept. 24, deputies responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash in which the car ended up on a boulder.
The investigation revealed that the driver, 38-year-old Kodi Roy Payne, was driving eastbound on Benson Highway and veered off the road, possibly due to a medical incident.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found that Payne was unresponsive. Payne was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, where he later died.

The PCSD says impairment is unknown and the investigation is still ongoing.
