The Tucson Police Department called for help from Animal Protection Officers as they were working to condemn a house near Irvington Road and 12th Avenue.

Animal Protection Officers said the home was in poor condition and noticed a strong odor and animal waste covering the floor.

26 dogs were seized in the investigation and brought to PACC.

Now, PACC needs help finding adopters for the dogs, especially since October trends indicate a higher influx of animals and lower adoptions.

With both PACC and East Pima Animal Care’s kennels at capacity, a euthanasia deadline will be set if the dogs are not adopted.

Friends of Pima Animal Care will be running an adoption promotion every Saturday through the rest of October.

Anyone who adopts a dog weighing over 30 pounds will receive a $25 credit to the in-shelter pet stores to be used the day of adoption.

PACC has also created Halloween-themed free adoption coupons to hand out to trick-or-treaters. The coupons can be downloaded, clipped and then placed into trick-or-treaters’ bags.
