PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A Mesa man who was drunk when he caused a crash in Gilbert that killed a Lyft driver, her passenger and her dog last year has learned his punishment.

Court officials said Friday that Robb Hintzsche, 35, was sentenced to 24 years in prison during a hearing in Phoenix.
On Sept. 19, 2025, Hintzsche had a blood alcohol content of 0.287 when he ran a red light at Recker and Ray roads and crashed into the car of Nicole Snell, 36, who was working as a rideshare driver with her dog and had picked up Marisa Jorgenson, 33.
The impact caused Snell’s car to spin and slam into a traffic pole on the northwest corner of the intersection.

Snell, Jorgenson and Snell’s dog Bellini died at the scene.
Hintzsche was hospitalized until Thanksgiving Day, when Gilbert police detectives took him into custody.
He made a plea deal earlier this summer.
