APACHE JUNCTION, AZ (AZFamily) — A man faces an attempted murder charge after allegedly shooting another man in Apache Junction this week.

Apache Junction Police said officers were called to the area of Old West Highway and Winchester Road, east of Idaho Road, around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday when the suspect called for an ambulance because he shot someone.
When police got to the scene, the suspect remained in the area and spoke with officers, Apache Junction PD said. Officers found the shooting victim, and he was hospitalized in critical condition.
Apache Junction Police said the two men knew each other, and there is no outstanding threat to the public.

The suspect was booked into Pinal County Jail on charges of attempted second-degree murder and three counts of endangerment, and he’s held on a $250,000 bond. His identity was not immediately available.
What led to this shooting is still under investigation.
