PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is in custody after he allegedly barricaded himself inside of a Phoenix bar for several hours Tuesday morning.

Shortly after 2 a.m., witnesses reported seeing a man pull out a firearm at Dunes Cocktail Lounge, located near 35th and Dunlap avenues. Once officers arrived at the scene, they made sure all customers and staff were safely out of the building.
Authorities taped off the scene and had officers with guns drawn set up around the bar. Investigators with Phoenix police’s special assignments unit attempted to communicate with the man, who stayed inside for nearly six hours.
Arizona’s Family crews witnessed officers giving commands to the man through a loudspeaker and two armored SWAT vehicles pull up outside the bar.
Shortly before 8 a.m., officers were seen walking the man out of the bar and putting him in the back of a patrol vehicle.

Both lanes of Dunlap Avenue are closed at 35th Avenue. Residents and drivers are asked to avoid the area until authorities clear the scene.
