MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA/Gray News) – A Texas man was arrested Thursday night after Midland police said he confronted another man with a machete. The confrontation came after claims that the man had sexually abused a child.

Officers were called out to a home on Yellow Rose Court over reports of a disturbance involving a weapon.
Dispatchers reported hearing people screaming during the 911 call.
The caller also told dispatch the suspect, identified as Odane Bailey, had a machete and was accusing another man of raping a child.
Police said Bailey had driven to the home after being told by his mother that the victim had molested a girl.
After learning of the claims while at work, Bailey told officers he left his job at the Midland Meat Market and went to the home to confront the man.
When officers arrived, they found a man holding a machete while a woman pinned him to the ground.

The machete was lying next to them.
Officers separated Bailey from the machete and placed him in a patrol vehicle.
According to the arrest affidavit, Bailey told officers he did not know what he was going to do with the machete once he arrived at the home, but said he was angry and wanted to confront the man about the claims.
According to the affidavit, officers confiscated the machete as evidence. The victim told police he wanted to pursue charges.
Police said Bailey was charged with aggravated assault causing bodily injury after injuring the victim’s eye while trying to swing the machete at him.
The police report also notes that the child sexual abuse allegation was discussed during the incident.
No information about charges related to that claims was included in the affidavit.
