PEORIA, AZ (AZFamily) — We now know what was said during a 911 call that included a confession from a Peoria man who police say brutally murdered his parents.

Jonathan Turk is accused of killing his parents with a hammer and a knife last spring. Police say Turk was angry that his parents put him on medication.
Turk called 911 shortly after the murders, and by the looks of the transcript, he was calm. He told police he did it and waited for them outside the home.
The dark details of what happened the night of March 31 are laid out in 300 pages of new records. A scene out of a horror movie played out inside the Peoria home on 83rd Avenue and Jomax Road, but not one neighbor heard screams.
These records say, 15 minutes after the brutal murder of Tina and Fraser Turk, their son Johnathan called 911. Jonathan answered the dispatcher’s questions seemingly in a calm manner.
“A murder.”
“My parents, I did it.”
“They’re lying on the floor; I was angry with them.”
He added that he used a knife and a hammer to “kill mom and dad.”
Turk told the operator he was mad about the medication he was put on, and the weapons were in his room in a trash can.
The new records reveal Turk was at a Walmart the day of the killing, buying the murder weapon. He can be seen on camera buying a hammer.
The report indicates Turk’s decline started in early 2023 when he sent threatening letters to churches, neighbors and police departments across the state.
It’s not clear what he wrote, but the letters happened so often records show Peoria Police created an awareness bulletin pointing to Turk’s mental illness.

In the last few months Arizona’s Family has uncovered that Turk’s parents tried to get him the help he needed multiple times over the years, including three times right before their deaths.
Advocates who knew the family said this was the result of severe mental illness that wasn’t being properly treated.
“I go back to how hard I tried to get my son help. Seven agencies. Each time I tried to get him help, it became more and more dangerous for me,” advocate Crystal Fox said.
Fox helped create a group called Arizona Mad Moms. She and others in the group have had had personal struggles with the state’s mental health system.
Turk is facing charges including two counts of murder. It’s not clear when he’s due back in court.
