PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs, a Democrat, has outspent Republican challenger Andy Biggs by $12 million in the race for governor, according to the latest campaign finance reports.

That gap widens when outside spending is included, with just two weeks remaining until Election Day.
Hobbs’ campaign has spent more than $17 million on the race. Biggs has spent just over $5 million, according to the reports.
Voters react to campaign spending
Several voters dropping off early ballots in Phoenix said the spending is too much for a job that pays $95,000 a year.
“I think there’s definitely too much money in politics,” Edward Garcia said.
“There’s too much money for the wrong people,” Ray Petras said.
Outside groups add millions more
Candidates’ individual filings do not show spending from outside groups supporting them.
The Navajo County Democratic Committee has spent over $33 million for Hobbs and other Democratic candidates. That includes $14 million from the Democratic Governors Association.
“That’s exaggerated. That’s ridiculous, ridiculous,” Amelia Dominguez said.
Biggs is also getting outside help. Combined, outside groups have spent over $21 million on the race to support him or attack Hobbs. The most prominent is Turning Point USA, a conservative advocacy group started by the late Charlie Kirk.

“I don’t know that I necessarily agree with large outside interests influencing the Arizona election,” Christine Jones said.
Because Hobbs is getting money from several outside groups, it is hard to say exactly how much is being spent on her campaign overall.
The Democratic Governors Association has spent $14 million on the race. The Republican Governors Association has not spent any money.
