TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A Cochise County teen faces multiple charges as part of an investigation that started in Louisiana.

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was contacted August 20 about a swatting call made to an elementary school in Louisiana.
Swatting is a criminal act where someone makes a 911 call to report fake high-risk emergency, with the goal being to trick police into sending a SWAT team to that location.
The CCSO says contact with a 13-year-old male connected to the Louisiana incident revealed information of a potential suspect in Cochise County.
Law enforcement in Louisiana reported a second swatting call that also led to the same suspect in Cochise County.
Cochise County Sheriff’s Office detectives served a search warrant at the suspect’s address in Hereford September 15 and recovered evidence.

The 15-year-old male was taken into custody and charged with Making Terroristic Threats (class 3 felony) and False Reporting (class 6 felony).
The investigation is being continued jointly by the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana law enforcement agencies.
