Aviation closed near Kino due to ‘unsafe’ condition

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – An “unsafe condition” forced the closure of a stretch of Aviation Parkway in Tucson on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

At 2:15 p.m., the Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility said Aviation had to be closed from Kino to Country Club.

At 5 p.m., TDOTM said the westbound lanes of Aviation were back open and that the eastbound lanes would remain closed until midnight Thursday.

Officials said crews noticed a problem with the overhang and said it needed to be fixed immediately.
