FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AZFamily) — A Valley man is facing charges after allegedly driving recklessly before hitting and killing a pedestrian in Flagstaff Friday evening.

Just before 8 p.m., first responders were called to the report of a person hit by a car near Milton Road and Plaza Way.
When officers arrived, they found 69-year-old Flagstaff resident Gary Zeman unresponsive, according to the Flagstaff Police Department. He died at the scene.
Police arrested 23-year-old Matthew Goodman of Queen Creek at the scene on charges of reckless driving and manslaughter.
Authorities believe speed and impairment may have contributed to the crash, which remains under investigation.
