FRANKFORT, Ill. (CNN) — An Illinois mother has been charged with murder in the death of her 2-year-old son.

According to court documents, a neighbor found the boy in the basement of the family’s Frankfort home Tuesday and performed CPR.
The neighbor then found the child’s mother, 38-year-old Corie Walsh, in a bathtub, harming herself with a knife.
The child was taken to the hospital, where he died. The coroner’s office said he died from asphyxia.

Court documents state Walsh told investigators she killed her son because he was “the devil and the anti-Christ.”
Witnesses said Walsh had closely followed the Lindsay Clancy murder trial in Massachusetts.
In a statement, Walsh’s attorney said his client experienced a psychotic episode at the time of the murder.
