TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – One person was detained after a vehicle went off the road and crashed into a ravine on Catalina Highway on Friday, Sept. 4.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said the accident happened near Molino Canyon Vista on Mount Lemmon.
The PCSD said the person was detained for leaving the scene of an accident and the investigation is ongoing.
There were no major injuries, road closures, or danger to the public, according to the PCSD.
It is the third major crash on Catalina Highway that 13 News has reported on since March.

On March 21, 35-year-old Bethany Redondo died when she failed to negotiate a turn with her truck, collided with the guardrail, and dropped 100 feet into a ravine.
On April 20, 26-year-old Alexy Alcantar died when he lost control of his motorcycle near a curve.
