YUMA, AZ (AZFamily) — Troopers in southern Arizona stopped a driver allegedly hiding gallons of liquid meth inside the rails of a trailer last month.

The stop happened Aug. 11 on Interstate 8 near Yuma. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) said troopers pulled over the driver of a Ford F-350 pickup truck towing a trailer.
After pulling over the truck, DPS said the driver showed “several indicators of criminal activity.”
When searching the truck and the trailer, troopers reportedly found that the trailer’s frame rails were filled with an unknown liquid. Hazmat crews responded and confirmed the liquid to be methamphetamine, DPS said.
The truck and trailer were taken to a secure location, and investigators found a total of 106 gallons of liquid meth in the trailer’s rails, DPS said.

Troopers arrested the driver and passenger on charges that include possession of dangerous drugs and transportation of dangerous drugs for sale.
DPS said Canine District troopers assisted the hazmat team in this search and seizure.
